When your child is dedicated at Laneway Church this is done in the service with the whole church. You are encouraged to invite family and friends to be part of this event.
We will ask with you and your child as well as grandparents, or godparents you wish to be part of your child's growth in knowing Jesus, to commit to raising your child in the knowledge of and love of Jesus and being a godly example to them.
Things to consider:
- any special verse that is significant to you or your child
- people you would ask to support you
When you are baptised with Laneway Church it is by full immersion. Depending upon the weather, it will either occur at the river or someone's backyard pool.
One of our pastor's will baptise you along with a support person of your choice. This is best to be someone who has already been baptised themselves. Feel free to talk to us if you have someone specific in mind or need help asking.
You will need a couple of things:
- appropriate clothes to get wet (darker colours better)
- towel
- support person if applicable (also with clothes for getting wet & towel)
